This recipe is great for dinner, served with rice, or you can make the meatballs smaller and serve them as appetizers. This recipe came from Paul’s late Aunt Helen, who was not only a fabulous lady, but an amazing cook. I have “tweaked” her recipe a bit – I’m sure she wouldn’t mind. She was always after us to enter the niche market and sell our own pork. I’m sure she’s smiling down on us now. Thanks Aunt Helen.

1 lb Willowgrove Hill sausage (whatever kind you have – garlic or Italian)
1 egg
½ cup bread crumbs
3 Tbsp chopped parsley
½ cup chopped onion
1 tsp salt
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
¼ tsp ground pepper
12 oz bottle of chili sauce (I use Heinz)
10 oz jar of grape jelly
1 Tbsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp soy sauce

Remove sausage from the casing. 

Combine sausage, egg, breadcrumbs, parsley, onion, salt, Worcestershire and pepper.  Mix together and form meatballs.  Set aside.

Combine remaining ingredients in a large pot.  Heat mixture to boiling, add uncooked meatballs and simmer for 30 minutes.
